As the Product Manager for the Data Acquisition team at Grow, I spend my days making sure our data connectors deliver impact, meet customer needs, and work reliably. But Grow isn’t just the platform I help build, it’s the tool I rely on to pull all the data I need into one place, make sense of it, and uncover new opportunities. It’s how I measure success, keep things running smoothly, and figure out where we should go next.
For me, value is the ultimate test of whether we’re hitting the mark. Are we delivering on our goals? Are our customers actually using what we’ve built? Grow makes it easy for me to track and measure value by:
Usage: I monitor how often customers are building metrics with new connectors or tables to see how well they’re being adopted.
Adoption Trends: I combine data from our operational database with a Google Sheet where I track deployment details. Grow lets me blend it all together and analyze usage over time.
This gives me a clear picture of what’s working and what isn’t, so I know whether our bets are paying off or if we need to reevaluate our decision making.
Quality is everything. If our product doesn’t work reliably or consistently, we lose customer trust, and once that’s gone, it’s nearly impossible to get back. I focus on three main areas of quality:
Performance: Do interactions work in a reasonable timeframe?
Reliability: Does the functionality behave consistently every time?
Stability: Does the functionality work every time a customer interacts with it?
With Grow, I can track key metrics like error rates and sync times using our PostgreSQL connector, and I keep an eye on unresolved bugs through Jira. All of this gives me a real-time view of the product’s health and helps me spot problems before they become bigger issues.
Execution is where the rubber meets the road. It’s about getting stuff done and making sure nothing falls through the cracks. Jira is great for managing tasks, but its reporting? Not so much. That’s where Grow really shines for me. I’ve built a dashboard that pulls data straight from Jira, giving me real-time, actionable insights:
Project Progress: A big-picture view of where we stand and what’s at risk.
Outstanding Stories: A dynamic list of open tasks with direct links for quick access.
My Assignments: A personalized list of what’s on my plate so I can stay organized.
This setup saves me hours of piecing things together manually and lets me focus on making sure we deliver.
One of my favorite things about Grow is how it helps me uncover opportunities I might’ve missed otherwise. By pulling in data from all kinds of sources, I can dig deeper into trends and find new ways to add value. For example:
Webflow Data: I track which connectors are listed on our site and how they’re categorized.
Google Search and Analytics: I monitor search trends and page views to see if new connectors are getting attention.
Custom Integrations: I keep tabs on which custom integrations are being used the most, which helps me prioritize new native connectors.
This process not only helps me refine our roadmap but also ensures we’re staying proactive and adapting to what our customers need.
Grow isn’t just another BI solution—it’s the backbone of how I work. It pulls data from all the tools I use—our operational database, Jira, Google Sheets, Webflow, Google Analytics—and puts it all in one place. The best part? I can set up everything myself without relying on IT or developers, so I’m always able to adapt to whatever I need at the moment.
Metrics aren’t just numbers—they’re the foundation for every decision I make. By focusing on Value, Quality, Execution, and Discovery, Grow helps me ensure we’re delivering real impact for our customers. It’s not just a tool I work on—it’s a tool I couldn’t work without.
